Safety Plan – safety first…AED newest addition to Rising Sun Learning Center!

Here’s our newest addition to RSLC’s safety plan. It was our goal to have an AED on-site by the end of 2016 and it arrived today!!!

Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. Over 350,000 people will suffer from sudden cardiac arrest this year . It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere and at any age. An AED is the only effective treatment for restoring a regular heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest and is an easy to operate tool for someone with no medical background.

Time is of the essence:

  • The average response time for first responders once 911 is called is 8-12 minutes.
  • For each minute defibrillation is delayed, the chance of survival is reduced approximately 10%.

Pop Ice

Kona Ice last day at the center is Thursday August 4th.  They have enjoyed coming to Rising Sun each week and look forward to returning next summer!

Children 2 years and up may participate with a cash payment of $2.00.  Those not buying Kona Ice receive a Pop Ice, perfect for these hot afternoons!

Morning Drop off….

If we are still providing care in the Commons area when your child arrives in the morning, we ask that you take your child’s belongings to their room (or assigned hook) before saying your goodbyes.

$$ Free – Week of Tuition$$

Don’t forget about our Parent Referral Program. Upon enrollment of a referred family, Rising Sun Learning Center will give a week’s tuition (oldest child) to the current enrolled family for referring our center to a new family. This is NOT a onetime offer.  The more you refer the more free weeks you receive

Each month a box of Kleenex and a package of wet wipes needs to be supplied to your Childs class.   If you have not done so, please do so.  These are used daily in the classes for runny noses, fast cleanup after an art project.

Water Days

Every Wednesday we have been having water play.  The days are still going to be hot so weather permitting we will continue our days with water into September.  DON’T forget to pack clothes for them and send a towel, water shoes and sun screen. We would prefer you to leave these here at the center for the summer. LABEL EVERTHING WITH YOUR CHILDS NAME!!

Due to our limited supply of extra clothes, we ask that you make sure your child has a change of weather appropriate clothes here at the center; (2 changes for infants through 3 years of age).  YES this means older children also.

Just a reminder… that Rising Sun Learning Center is a NUT FREE school.   Please check labels when you are bringing in items from home for breakfast.   Many of the “Breakfast Bars” contain nuts or where packaged in a plant that serves nut products.

Center School Districts first day of school is August 17th for children Kindergarten and up.  Early Childhood starts August 22nd.

Just a reminder, that Rising Sun Learning Center requires a 2 week written notice of disenrollment.  If your child is leaving at the end of summer break or will be changing to just before and after school, please inform management as to your plans.

What is A.S.Q?

A.S.Q.  stands for Ages and Stages Questionnaire. The ASQ is a questionnaire designed to help parents check their child’s progress.  In return, the ASQ can be used by parents to talk with their doctors, teacher or other professionals if they have concerns about their child’s developmental.

This summer we had an intern who completed an assessment on the children in the center.  If you would like a copy of the report with explanations of the results please see Ms. Pam.

Rising Sun Learning Center

As most of you know we have recently undergone a name change to reflect more of what we are about.

Formerly know as Little Rascals Christian Daycare Center we are now taking on Rising Sun Learning Center under new ownership and management.

We love our kids and couldn’t be more appreciative of our staff and parents. Thank you for helping make this transition so successful!

Garden 5

Christ-centered Atmosphere

We incorporate ways to encourage an atmosphere that is Christ-centered.

Our kids are constantly learning…recently we had groups focused on gardening and how you can grow your own food.
